Happy Fourth (even though it isn't)

"I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives.  I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him."  ~Abraham Lincoln

So it wasn't the Fourth.  Oh well.  That didn't seem to matter much this morning as the otherwise sleepy town of Penngrove showed up in style to celebrate this most patriotic of holidays, country style.  We counted 19 tractors, although there is some debate as to whether riding lawnmowers (John Deere, of course) earn a tractor designation, a handful of vintage military vehicles, a half dozen or so classic '55 Chevys and a bunch of miniature horses on leashes (yes, you are reading that correctly.)

The  Italian Nave Patrola showed up and there was even a Statue of Liberty created entirely out of balloons.

And marching bands?  Well, we had those too, although the average age of the band members was a young 72 years of age (72 is the new 62 after all!)   Rumor has it that the tuba player was playing a tuba that he bought when he was 8.

How's that for celebrating?
