I've always loved the movie "On Golden Pond", the old paneled cabin filled with years of living nestled in the woods. Katherine Hepburn and Henry Fonda would likely love it here on Lake Cayuga. It's peaceful and quiet (except for the impromptu nightly "neighborhood" gatherings of old friends at the "Sanibel Island", a man made outdoor bar a few houses down.

Here to visit our college freshman football player, we spent the better part of two days on planes, trains and automobiles to get here. The rain has stopped and we're off for a drive to Cooperstown today, to see our very own Jon Miller take his place among the other legends of America's pastime.

I'm looking forward to a few days of life lakeside, reading a good book (thanks Frances), swimming off the dock and enjoying life "On Golden Pond".
