Sometimes, I forget

There are things a mother has to remember.

There are dentist appointments and after school meetings

And a stop at Staples to pick up copy paper for the history project.

The red socks must be washed for the baseball game on Tuesday

And a note must be sent to the teacher to explain that last Monday, due to circumstances beyond your control, your son could not, did not, make it to school on time even though you tried.

Truly you tried.

Somewhere between morning and night

between comings and goings

from the hustle and bustle of everyday

there are lunches to make and dinners to plan

and laundry to do.

There is always laundry to do.

There are things a mother has to remember.

Like buying Gatorade mix.
