The Role of a Lifetime - Marc Zywaczewski

When the loss of his older brother to suicide shook his confidence and left him struggling to find direction, Marc Zywaczewski found safety in musical theater. After years abroad performing on the international stage and as a social director on Disney cruise ships, Marc returned home to Melbourne, Australia.  It is here in his biggest role that his boundless energy and deep compassion brightens the lives of seniors in his care.

As you listen to this episode, consider — What responsibility do we have to our elders? When faced with illness and dementia, do we treat them with dignity, adapting to their new reality?  Can we help them find purpose and meaning, even when they can no longer do what they once could?

Marc Zywaczewski brings joy and meaning to the lives of the aged community with whom he works. “Find joy in everything you do,” he says. “And most importantly, don’t forget to play.”
